Chile’s big forestry group, Arauco, is due to start the construction of a pulp plant at its Itata complex, with an expected investment of US$ 850 million. The company said it was finalising the first phase of the project, valued at US$150 million and was now starting work on the pulp plant, this stage representing 61 per cent of the total of investment of US$1.4 billion.... The Forestry Commission published statistics on British timber harvested and used by primary wood processing industries in Great Britain in "British Timber Statistics 2003”.
