Stora Enso Reports Increased Sales

Germany: Planed Spruce Lumber Exports I-V/2010

Despite an increase of 14.2% in planed spruce lumber exports in May compared to the previous year, exports in the first five months of 2010 were still 14.4% below the reference period in 2009 and amounted to almost 220,000 m³. European Prefab Quota on a Growth Curve

About one house out of 10 in Europe is a prefabricated home as the European prefab quota increased in 2009 up to 11.07%. Prefabricated houses are becoming very popular among Europeans thanks to their numerous advantages such as eco-friendliness, affordable prices and the speed of the construction work.
But due to the global financial turmoil around the world, the growth on the European market for prefabricated houses will be dampened and cooled till 2010. Nevertheless it still remains quiet positive and keeps increasing annually with 3-5% according to the latest report by Interconnection Consulting, a marketing research company settled in Vienna.

New chemi-mechanical pulping line to Chenzhou Yunong Paper in China

Metso will supply a new bleached chemi-mechanical pulping (CTMPc) line to Chenzhou Yunong Paper Co. Ltd in Hunan province, China. The line will have a capacity of 500 tonnes a day and is to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2011. The order value is below EUR 10 million. Germany: Log Exports Beech I-V/2010

Germany's beech log exports strongly rose in May compared to the same month last year. The increase of 137% for export to China confirmes that a lot of logs came from the woods behind schedule due to the snowy winter.
