Weinig, one of the biggest manufacturers of woodworking machines, is determined to continue its cost-reduction efforts to help offset competition from Asia. "The pressure on prices from the Far East continues to be enormous. We must not lessen our efforts to reduce costs if we want to maintain our position as number one", commented the Chairman of the Management Board, Rainer Hundsdörfer, during the in-house fair InTech05.

The trade fair's results were considered "outstanding" by Weinig officials, despite "the continuously unsatisfactory situation on the German market".

During the three-day event that took place in Tauberbischofsheim from September 26 to 28, Weinig attracted orders worth 8.5 million euro for its machines and systems. Approximately 1,100 specialists visited InTech, with the largest percentage coming from Eastern Europe.
