The Russian government has published last week a list of new sanctions that will prohibit some activities of Turkish companies in Russia. The sanctions entered into force on January 1. The decision comes after Turkey has shot down a Russian airplane in November last year.

As the Russian media reports, Turkish companies will not be allowed to ''construct buildings, work in architecture and design''. Turks will not be able to work in the travel and hotel businesses in Russia. Moreover, the ban includes companies engaged in forestry and timber processing.

The ban does not apply to contracts concluded before the entry into force of the regulation.
