Martinsons has signed a 5-year collaboration agreement for building apartments with Folkhem Trä, Stockholm, a company formed by Folkhem and Rikshem. The agreement could give an order value of more than 100 Million Euro for the North Swedish company Martinsons.

Folkhem Trä is aiming to build 4000 apartments with multi storey houses of CLT-structure in Stockholm till 2020. The magnitude for Martinsons will be at least 350 apartments which makes the deal to the biggest so far signed by Martinsons for building multi storey houses with CLT-structure in wood.

"The order value for 350 apartments of the quality and size that Folkhem wants is roughly 32 Million Euro. Naturally we would like to win their trust to deliver even more, we have the capacity for that", says Lars Martinson CEO of Martinson Group, and continues:

"The agreement will also give an extra boost to develop what we can offer. It will lead to both new investments and need for more employees in the factories."

For Folkhem Trä, the choice of building with CLT wood means both taking responsibility for a sustainable environment but also smart business in the long run.

"In the future we think the best alternative will be to invest in “green”, as to say in suistainable material. Wood is the only climate friendly and sustainable option there is", says Arne Olsson CEO at Folkhem Trä in Stockholm.

Within this agreement there are also plans of a 22 floor high CLT wood building in Hallonbergen in Stockholm, drawn by the Swedish well-known wood architect Gert Wingårdh. With a height of 65 meters, that would be the highest woodbuilding in the world by far, according to Martinsons.
