Prices for sawn softwood logs in North Rhine-Westphalia have increased significantly, while prices for industrial timber have decreased.
Had it not been for the logs placed in water storage after storm Kyrill in January 2007, the log procurement situation for most sawmills in North Rhine-Westphalia would have been even worse.
