Germany: Price of pellets continues to decrease in June

Wood pellets in Germany were priced in June at EUR 225.01/tonne, according to the latest price survey of the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV). The price has decreased by 1.4% as compared to May, and is 5.4% lower than June 2015. Wood pellets currently have a price advantage of 28% as opposed to natural gas, and 8.6% against heating oil. 

The price of wood pellets in Germany had the following regional differences in June 2016: in central Germany the price is EUR 228.80/t (for 6t purchases), the lowest in the country. In southern Germany the same amount costs EUR 223.48/t. In northern and eastern Germany the price is EUR 232.53/t, and therefore the highest. 

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in June in the following conditions: central Germany: EUR 208.01/t; south: EUR 210.93/t; north/east: EUR 211.11/t (all including VAT).
