The Board of Bergs Timber AB has decided to invest 25 MSEK in a new biofuel boiler at the Mörlunda sawmill, says the company in its press-release.

According to the company's announcement, the existing boiler was built in the 1980s. The company's Board sees this investment as an important measure for fitting out Mörlunda sawmill for the future.

"The investment enables us to utilize our drying capacity better and provide a more stable operation for the driers. The investment also benefits both the working environment and the environment, as the new boiler has better combustion properties and more efficient flue gases cleaning system", says the company in its message.

The new boiler is going to be a 6 MW one. Construction will commence in autumn 2017 and the commissioning is planned to be completed in the summer of 2018.

"With the new boiler, Mörlunda sawmill will be a complete and modern facility for small-diameter timber," commented Bergs Timber's CEO Peter Nilsson.
