About one house out of 10 in Europe is a prefabricated home as the European prefab quota increased in 2009 up to 11.07%. Prefabricated houses are becoming very popular among Europeans thanks to their numerous advantages such as eco-friendliness, affordable prices and the speed of the construction work.
But due to the global financial turmoil around the world, the growth on the European market for prefabricated houses will be dampened and cooled till 2010. Nevertheless it still remains quiet positive and keeps increasing annually with 3-5% according to the latest report by Interconnection Consulting, a marketing research company settled in Vienna.

From January to May oak log exports from Germany amounted to 43,000 m³, down 1.56% compared to the previous year. The export value decreased by 0.9%. Similar to the beech log exports, a sharp increase in oak exports was noted in May.
Germany's beech log exports strongly rose in May compared to the same month last year. The increase of 137% for export to China confirmes that a lot of logs came from the woods behind schedule due to the snowy winter. Since April Sweden's paper industry has returned back to the German beech log markets.
The April has slowed down the downward tendency in oak lumber imports to Germany. By force of an 3% increase, the annualized decrease in the year to April was only 0.5%.

Since 2001, China has imposed zero tariff for 41 of the world's LDCs...
