Germany: Prices of wood pellets in November at summer level due to warm autumn

In Germany, the price of wood pellets now adapts to the warm autumn and remains at the summer level. According to a current survey of the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association eV (DEPV), the price for a tonne (t) of wood pellets is slightly lower in November and now amounts to 251.26 EUR / t. This represents a 0.4% decrease over the previous month and more than 13% below November 2013. Compared to fuel oil prices, pellets in Germany still have a high price advantage of 29.3%.

In Germany, the price of wood pellets in November 2014 has the following regional differences: at best price, ENplus pellets can be bought from the center of the country, where they currently cost 250.09 EUR / t (for 6t purchases). In the southern region, pellets average cost 250.25 EUR / t, while in the north and east 252.56 EUR / t.

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in November at the folllowing prices: north/east: 230.68 EUR / t; center: 235.46 EUR / t and in the south 237.23 EUR / t, all including VAT.
