Prinzhorn Group acquires 5,400 hectares of forests from the Rothschild family

Prinzhorn Holding GmbH, through its subsidiary, Forstverwaltung Neuhaus GmbH, will take over the entire assets and employees of takes over the entire assets and employees of the Neuhaus-Alpl forestry company. Previous owner was the Rothschild family, which had offered the company by tender for sale. Mutual confidentiality was agreed on the purchase price.

The assets include 5,400 hectares in the municipality of Langau near Gaming, Lower Austria. Included are all properties and the forest with about 1.5 million meters of wood and the 216-acre natural forest reserve "Hinterer Oiswald". The 10 employees as well and the existing leases were taken over.

With the purchase, the Prinzhorn Group pursues its long-term growth and strategy to double the company under the group vision "Grow2030". Since 2015, this strategy has repeatedly led to strategic acquisitions in Germany and abroad.

The Prinzhorn Group, with 6,600 employees in 15 countries, is one of the European market leaders in the recycling, paper and packaging industries. With an annual turnover of 1.4 billion euros, the Group is number three in this segment in Europe. The family-owned company is headquartered in Vienna (Austria) and is divided into three divisions: Dunapack Packaging (packaging solutions made of corrugated board), Hamburger Containerboard (production of corrugated base paper) and Hamburger Recycling (collection and trading of secondary raw materials).
