In February, the price of wood pellets in Germany has not changed much over the previous month. The current price is 242.18 EUR/t. However, as compared to February 2015, the price is 5.6% lower. German wood pellets still have a price advantage over natural gas of approximately 25%. However, because of the crash in oil prices, fuel oil has now a price advantage over pellets of 22%/

In February 2016, on a regional basis, southern Germany offers the cheapest pellets. For 6 tonnes orders, the price stands at 239.62 EUR/t. The same amount of pellets on central Germany costs 243.12 EUR/t, while in northern and eastern Germany 247.46 EUR/t.

Larger quantities (26 t) were traded in February 2016 in the following conditions: south: 225.98 EUR/t, center: 227.45 EUR/t, north/east: 227.62 EUR/t (all including VAT).
